Corrosion left untreated compromises structural integrity and shortens the life of a coating system applied over it. Our mobile fiber laser units remove rust and oxidation down to a clean substrate without the mechanical contact of grinding or the media stream of sandblasting, so the base material isn't pitted or thinned in the process.
Because the process is fully mobile, rust removal can happen in place — on structural steel, equipment, tanks, and tooling — without cutting parts loose and shipping them to a shop.
A clean, oxide-free surface is also a better foundation for recoating, which is why rust removal is often paired with our coating removal and pre-weld prep services on the same mobilization.
