Oil, mill scale, rust, and coating residue left in a weld zone can lead to porosity, cracking, and weak joints. Laser cleaning removes those contaminants down to bare, oxide-free metal without introducing loose abrasive grit the way grinding wheels and sandblast media can.
Because our units are mobile, prep happens right at the joint — on fabrication floors or in the field — supporting the same MIG, TIG, and stick welding work our fabrication team performs to ASME and AWS standards.
The same laser system can also clean the finished weld and surrounding heat-affected zone afterward, so a part can go from prep to weld to paint-ready in a single mobilization.
